Ariana Grande Opens Up About Bizarre Call She Got After Oscar Nomination

Ariana Grande recently received her first-ever Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress pertaining to her role as Glinda in 2024 blockbuster Wicked.

The beloved actress and pop sensation spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about the exciting achievement on Wednesday (February 5), citing a variety of emotions as she watched the live nomination announcement.

"I was in London and I was watching and I mean, as soon as they started announcing that our whole Wicked... I was just sobbing because I love our Wicked family so much. When they announced mine, I was a mess. I almost collapsed."

Grande revealed that she received a handful of calls and texts from friends and loved ones, and had a few unexpected health professionals reach out to her.

"My mom called instantly and then my best friends Aaron and Doug called. My team called, and then like, my therapist and then even my Gynecologist. I was like 'oh my God'. It was lovely. I was like 'oh my God, it's been awhile. Are we good... Is everything great?' You know."

The "Side to Side" songstress continued, sharing additional details about the call.

"She was so sweet. She was like 'oh my God you did it, I am so proud." And I said 'Thank you, we'll hug over the next breast exam or whatever.'"
