Kate Cassidy revealed the heartbreaking final text she sent her boyfriend Liam Payne during her first interview since his tragic death last year.

Cassidy sat down with The Sun for her first interview, published Wednesday (February 5), discussing Payne's final days, nearly four months after his death. The One Direction alum passed away on October 16 at 31 years old after falling from a third-story hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while reportedly under the influence.

Cassidy and Payne had been vacationing in Argentina in the weeks before his death, but she left early to return to Florida in order to take care of their rescue dog, Nala. Back at home, she decided to get into the Halloween spirit and put up their decorations, making sure to keep her boyfriend updated on the festivities, per E! News. In fact, Cassidy's final heartbreaking text to Payne revolved around her desire for him to come home.

"I can't wait for you to get home and see the house," she wrote.

The 25-year-old influencer also shared the last photo she took of Payne in which he "looks so happy" while on horseback as the couple took a trail ride near the end of their vacation.

Cassidy learned of Payne's death days after she returned to Florida, revealing that one of his friends called her with the news and that she's "blessed" not to have first heard about it on social media. However, she's still grieving the love of her life., who she said she thinks about "every second of every day."

"I'm trying to be the best I can be," she said, "but I feel like my life has changed so much."
