Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Set To Reunite With Royals For First Time

It's hard to believe it has only been one year since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their plans to step down from their official roles within the Royal Family. After a long twelve months apart from their fellow royals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly set a plan to return to London. This upcoming will be the first time Prince Harry and Meghan have seen Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the House of Windsor since they moved abroad early last year.

According to the Sunday Times, Harry and Meghan are expected to attend the Trooping of the Colour—AKA the Queen’s annual birthday parade, which will be held on June 12 in London. While Harry and Meghan are not allowed to attend official royal events anymore, the Trooping of the Colour is a family event as well as an official engagement for the senior members of the family, including Prince Charles and Prince William, so the Sussexes have been officially invited.

“The current plan is for the Queen’s birthday parade to go ahead in London as normal, with the acceptance that it may need to be adapted or scaled back depending on what guidelines are in force at the time,” a royal aide told the Sunday Times. “But the aspiration and the ultimate desire is to make it happen.”

Harry and Meghan would have attended the Trooping of the Colour last year, as well, but the celebration was massively scaled down due to the pandemic. Only Queen Elizabeth attended the event, which was held at Windsor Castle instead of Buckingham Palace due to the lockdowns.
